Cookie Policy

Analytics and personalisation

Core measurement runs for everyone under our legitimate interest, and you can object at any time. Enhanced analytics only runs if you accept it.

• rd_pid

A pseudonymous device identifier. Lets us count returning devices and build a device interest profile so recommended deals are relevant. Never linked to your name or email unless you sign in.

Stored for: Up to 2 years

• rd_intent · rd_taste · rd_taste_vec · rd_out_click

Your on-device interest signal: which categories and brands you engage with, and whether you clicked out to a retailer.

Stored for: Up to 1 year

• PostHog

Product analytics. Page views, deal impressions, searches and outbound clicks. With enhanced analytics accepted, this also covers interaction capture, web vitals and heatmaps.

Stored for: Up to 1 year

Advertising

Off unless you switch it on. This is the only category that shares information with a third party for their own purposes.

• Meta Pixel — Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Facebook and Instagram) — _fbp

Only set if you accept advertising cookies. Tells Meta which deals you viewed, searched for and clicked through to, so the ads we run reach people with matching interests and we can tell whether they worked. We never send your name, email or phone number, and search terms that look like an email or phone number are removed before sending.

Stored for: Up to 3 months

Changing your mind

• Use Manage on the cookie bar to set analytics and advertising separately. You can accept one without the other.
• To change a saved choice at any time, use Cookie settings in the footer of any page. It reopens this choice with your current answers shown, and takes effect immediately.
• If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a standing refusal of advertising cookies and honour it regardless of any earlier answer.
• Withdrawing consent stops future processing for that purpose. It does not undo processing already carried out.
• Blocking storage entirely through your browser is always available, though some account features will stop working.

Where information goes

• Some providers process information outside South Africa. Where that happens we take reasonable steps, consistent with section 72 of POPIA, to ensure it receives protection comparable to POPIA.
• Advertising is the only category shared with a third party for their own purposes, and it is off unless you turn it on.
• Clicking a deal takes you to the retailer's own website, which sets its own cookies under its own policy.
